Walk a block a day!
Remember that expression? Currently there are campaigns for Lupus. And then there is ParticipAction! These mean a lot to me now. We all should take part in such "action".
I found that after a reasonably relaxing weekend lazing around home before a work week a workout was in order. So at 6:15 p.m. I arrived at Nubodys and started with a good walk on the treadmill.
I have good news tonight too. My heart rate was high last week, as you might recall, but I peaked at 135 tonight at 3.5. I was so pleased. It is true that eating good, sleeping good, and taking it cool on days off sure helps blood pressure.
After the 15 minute walk I did some lat pull downs (3 sets of 12 at 75 lbs), sitting rowing (3 sets of 12 at 40 lbs), then shoulder presses (3 sets of 12 at 30 lbs).
Thinking more cardio and weight loss this year, I got back on the treadmill and walked for about 10 minutes at 2.8 and watched my heart rate calm down to 121 by finish. A stretchout and my workout was complete. It felt so very good.
Hope you are enjoying the same peace from working out as I have developed. If you are frustrated or nervous, take it out on an exercise machine, not a person or a pet .. your body will thank you along with your doctor.
Have a fit 2010.
Oh, and try Verve too! ;)
