Progressively speaking

Know you've worked out!

Now, remember, it has been one month exactly, so not only was it a first month anniversary routine last time but it also was a time to progress to the next level. Ashley started that transition today.

I was scheduled for her training at 10:00 am so I got there at 9:40 or so and got some cardio exercise on the treadmill at 2.9.. my increase of 3 points here is significant as I notice my recovery rate for my heart rate is faster now and my heart rate gets up slower (this means my heart is working more efficiently). That's good news as my blood pressure remains down at 130/83 (down from 188/94)! (All I need now is an MP3 player for entertainment.)

Ashley arrived on time as usual and we went into a studio where private sessions are held with more room and a huge fan. (Thank God! ha ha)

First superset included 3 sets of stepping up/down (60 seconds) with 3 sets of 12 squats
Next, 3 sets of 12 pushups superset with 3 sets of 12 ab crunches (felt every one of those)
After some water and 1 minute catching my breath we moved to the rowing machine.
I superset 2 sets of 12 pulls on that (45 pounds) with 2 sets of 12 double bicep curls (12.5 pounds each arm)

Thirty minutes had passed. I would never have done that a month ago, and even today I was feeling it across my chest and arms. She truly worked my core today. It took me a couple or so hours to feel okay after that but it will be interesting to see how things develop as I continue towards my 30 pound weight reduction goal and fitness plan.

I am 53 years old.. and if I can handle this so can you. Let me know.

Have a fit summer.

Paul
