Day 1 - Irons in the fire
Today started with a great trip to the school with my boys, although they weren't all happy about a Monday morning back at the books. I then managed to come home and organize my day. I had emailed CGI and now was waiting for a reply. Twittered a bit on twitter.com.
I grabbed a short nap, something for lunch then headed to the bank to get some money orders to pay some bills, then off to Teletech to officially resign. (I had sent an email of resignation, but it was a good idea to actually go and clean out my locker and give back the headset and grab my notebooks). The exit interview was postponed due to technical difficulties though (IT firm?)
That done, and still no call from CGI, I headed for the grocery store and got some food for the boys for dinner tonight then out to the school to bring them home. 3:30 pm already!
It was near 5:00pm that I finally got my reply email from CGI! They have a spot for me... YES! I will have to organize my questions for tomorrow and call to see what they have in mind.
So, Tuesday and Wednesday I'll get to see Ambassatours new model buses (two paid training days with lunch supplied) and Thursday is my run with the Courier (paid as well).
So, as I see it, while I iron out CGI, I'll train with Ambassatours and the Courier company and drive a courier until things are in stone. 3 jobs in a sense - but money coming in nevertheless. As a side note I called Hilton and there is a cheque waiting for me there as well. All good news!
I was desperate Friday and now have 3 options open. Maybe even 4 if Hilton ever calls me for spare driving work.
The moral of this story is stick to it - be positive - and take action!
Have a good night and enjoy this your first day of the rest of your life too.
From home - Paul
