Move ahead
It has been a great week. Decisions around career have been made. No more shiftwork! I told the corporate giant I work for that I would be leaving in a month and a half. Well next week after 4 days off, I work my last three 12.5 hour dayshifts then have 4 off and 3 days vacation. That will end my association with the company. I can then make myself totally available to the new employer. It feels great. The time during 'the notice' has allowed me to pass along knowledge and experience to new hires and feel comfortable but not complacent with the days that are left.
I struggle a little with the politics and procedures but I know soon they will be a thing of the past. There is also an opportunity through an exit interview to explain why I resigned my position. I want to tell them about the bad management, lack of ethics, or lack of respect I received but I wonder if that would just make me happy rather than make a point worth making.
In any case, on April 5th, I will work my last shift and move on to a new career. That is next week.. amazing how fast that month and a half went by!
