Is it Time To ReTire?
Have you ever been asked: "so, when do you plan on retiring?" What is that anyways? You mean you can actually stop working and never do a thing again? You mean money will always come in and bills will stop? That RRSP is finally yours? The pension plan at work and all the savings can finally be used until your inevitable demise?
Hold it!!! Let us define retirement: Retirement is the point where a person stops employment. (ok.. thats right then). A person may also semi-retire and keep some sort of job, although usually out of choice rather than necessity (ahhh- there's our work @home phrase).
So.. if there is enough pension savings you can retire fully - but semi-retirement is that state when you work part of the time and let your savings take you the rest of the way.
So.. I semi-retired. I work part of the time and save money by not commuting the other part. Sure works for me. Sometimes the cost of working exceeds the cost of living when you get right down to it. I can now fill my gas tank and it will last for two weeks!! I can get food and not eat out and save substantially. And, I can work @home on different projects that can become very lucrative or even hold down a tele-commuting job.
As a matter of fact, Staples Depot (Business Depot) has an local opening for a @home Customer Service Rep. I think I'll apply and see where it goes.
If you read this - tell me your experiences with retirement/semi-retirement.
Above all - have a great day!
Paul
