Hi everyone.
I just finished up 39 hours of nightshifts in 3 nights. Although feeling a little jet-lagged (so-to-speak) I can finally relax. During some lull times during the last three nights I had a chance to check out an idea that struck me as rather interesting. I am sure you have heard of it - working @home. I am not talking about MLM or some other hair-brained scheme that costs you money, but rather legitimate work @home.
The first company I looked at was TeleTech . It appears that they have started a new concept in customer service representation through the home based telecommuting model. Once screened anyone in the US can assume the position of a CSR through TeleTech@Home.
Here is the job advertisment on the site:
TeleTech @Home Customer Service Representative
Location
Englewood, CO
********************************************************************
Now Accepting Applications in all states to be filled in the next 3 - 6 months!********************************************************************
Make an Impact Without Leaving the House! Excellence. Innovation. Passion. Creating customers for life. That’s what TeleTech's work at home program stands for, and if you are the kind of person who is a motivated, self-starter who enjoys working from the comfort of your own home, then we have a great opportunity for you!
All positions are part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week, and you are empowered to select from our variable list of shift times to create a schedule that works for you. No ‘suiting up’ in the morning, juggling family appointments, spending your paycheck on gas, or navigating rush hour.
Interesting huh? Having been a former TeleTech employee I applied before I read that it was only in the US but was told by an online customer service agent that it may move into Canada soon. But if you are in the US try it!!
What an awesome concept!!! If you like the phone and can do it @home it sure could save you some money and in a way saves TeleTech money too making it a win-win situation. (By-the-way I am in no way associated nor advertise for TeleTech or paid to promote any offerings from the same).
Here is another one I found - LiveOps . This company caters to the business world. That is also home business. You go through a Qualifying Process to become an Agent for LiveOps. "An Agent is an independent contractor that develops and manages their own business. An Independent Agent contracts with LiveOps under an Independent Contractors Agreement to receive calls from people requesting products or services from LiveOps clients".
The qualifying process includes:
1. Validation your email address
2. Verifying your understanding of the basic requirements
3. Filling out contact information
4. Providing background information
5. Evaluating your reading comprehension
6. Recording a voice audition
I suggest reading the FAQ's here but it looks interesting to say the least.
Now working @home is not for everyone - you need to have peace and quiet and a room to focus. After all this is your job. But the balance of family and work sure is easier this way. Imagine the savings in fuel and time when you can get up anytime, dressed in anything, and work for a legitimate company who pays on time.
I think I will go continue my qualification steps with LiveOps. Talk soon and enjoy your work - it is what you spend the majority of our time doing, so why not make it pleasant.
Have a great weekend. In the meantime I will look for more telecommuniting opportunities.
Take care
Paul
