Summer you say?
May 26th?? Can you believe it? June with all of its glory is just around the corner.
This is a time I wait for every year with keen anticipation. The green grass starts to pop through the grey or brown lawn. The trees bud and the leaves emerge for summer. Birds reappear after their long winter south. The days are longer and the temperatures warm up. But you know all about that.
Tourism is supposed to increase too, or so I am told. Lately work has been rather scarce though. The price of fuel might be to blame. I mean $1.39/litre is down right ridiculous!! Diesel is even more than that!
What can a guy do? Working for a company in travel/tourism is great but its slow to start.. September/October happen to be the busiest months. May, June, July and August can be ok but not enough to keep the bills paid. A second job maybe? But hold it.. if one gets a second job how can he be sure he'll be available for the first one? Talk about an ethics problem.. sheesh!
So, I guess a job decision is just around the corner too. Do I stay with Ambassatours until layoff time in October?? Or, do I find a job that keeps me going year-round.. sounds easy but it is proving rather difficult at the moment.
I'll have to wait for the answer - it has to be just around the corner.

Hi Paul, have you looked at call center work from home? Depending on your skills, there are several different types of call center jobs that do not involve being that anoying person trying to sell something over the phone. Also work schedule is very flexible.

Yes.. I have looked at the @home call centre idea. I have a feeling not having a "land line" is causing problems with the completion of the interview / screening process. Excellent idea though.. thanks Pat.
